Espacios Naturales Protegidos (e-ISSN: [XXXX-XXXX], RNPS: [XXXX]) is a scientific publication edited by the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP). Founded in 2025, it specializes in the management, conservation, and sustainable development of Cuba’s National System of Protected Areas. Its multidisciplinary approach integrates themes such as planning, research, monitoring, community engagement, financial sustainability, and public policies, with the goal of disseminating knowledge, experiences, and best practices for the effective management of these natural spaces. The journal targets researchers, academics, protected area administrators and technicians, national entities, non-governmental organizations, local communities, students, and policymakers. It publishes original, unpublished works not simultaneously submitted elsewhere, in formats including scientific articles, literature reviews, short communications, case studies, technical notes, reviews, and editorials.

Additionally, contributions from international authors that provide relevant advances for the management of Cuba’s protected areas are welcomed, fostering global scientific collaboration. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process and are managed through Open Journal Systems (OJS) to ensure editorial transparency and efficiency. The journal provides open and free access to its content, upholding the principle of democratizing scientific knowledge. It does not charge fees for evaluation, processing, or publication of documents, ensuring equity in academic dissemination. Authors publishing in this journal agree to the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), under which all its contents are distributed.
